Man riding electric scooter struck, killed by vehicle in Racine

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Racine police are investigating a fatal crash involving an electric scooter Monday, May 4. 

Officers responded to the scene near 18th and Taylor Avenue around 3:38 p.m. 

They say the victim, a 61-year-old man, was attempting to cross the street on an e-scooter when he was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on Taylor Avenue. He was taken to an area hospital where he died of his injuries. 

Police say the driver of the vehicle, an 84-year-old man, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
