Man poses as police officer in Richfield neighborhood

In Richfield a homeowner encountered in the 3800 block of Overlook Drive a man acting suspiciously and acting like a police officer.
When the man attempted to obtain the license plate number on the vehicle, the man quickly exited his vehicle and claimed to be a police officer as he displayed a gold wallet badge.
The man advised the homeowner he was impeding a police investigation. The suspect is described as a white man in his late 40's to early 50's, longer brown hair. The suspect was driving a dark colored (black, blue, or grey) Ford Five Hundred.
Washington County Sheriff's Office is looking into if the subject was a legitimate law enforcement officer, but the Sheriff's Office did not have personnel working in that area at the time.
