Man on probation for burglary arrested for early morning burglary

A Milwaukee man, on probation for a previous burglary, was arrested for an early morning burglary on the South Side on September 14.

District Two officers responded to a business in the 1000 block of W. Historic Mitchell Street around 4:20  AM on September 14 after a witness called and said two men were trying to break into the business.

When officers arrived at the scene, the suspects fled on foot. One of the suspects, a 19-year-old Milwaukee man and convicted felon, was taken into custody following a brief foot chase. MPD is currently searching for the second suspect.

Officers inspected the building and found several areas of damaged drywall and a damaged steel door frame. A steel crowbar used by the suspects was also found at the scene.
