Neighbor in rowboat saves two fishermen on lake in Washington County

RICHFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- On Monday afternoon around 2:52 p.m. a resident around Friess Lake called 911 saying she heard two people yelling for help from an overturned boat about 50 to 75 yards from the north shore in Richfield.

There were no other boats in the water able to help.

Richfield Fire and Rescue and the Washington County Dive Team began to assemble as a proactive measure.

Before first responders could get there a resident was able to row a rowboat the fishermen and bring them to the shore where they declined treatment. The boaters were identified as a 28-year-old Menomonee Falls man and 32-year-old Milwaukee man.

It is unknown if the boaters were wearing life vests.
