Man in custody following 3 hour stand off in Cudahy

CUDAHY, Wisc. (CBS 58) -- Cudahy Police are investigating a domestic incident that resulted in a 3 hour crisis negotiation, Thursday night. 

According to Police, officers responded for a domestic disturbance call near E. Grange Ave. and S. O'Brien Ave., around 8 p.m. 

Yelling was reported, and a female in the residence was able to exit. A 46-year-old man and three children were still inside the residence.

The man threatened to use the children as a shield, threatened law enforcement and stated he would be leaving in a body bag. 

After negotiations, the children were allowed to leave the residence safely. 

Around 11:15 p.m., the man surrendered to tactical operators and was uninjured. 

South Milwaukee PD, St. Francis PD, Milwaukee County Sheriffs Office and the South Shore Joint Tactical Unit assisted in the operation. 

The incident is still under investigation, and if appropriate, charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
