Man Dies After Being Run Over By A Skid Loader

WASHINGTON COUNTY -  On Tuesday, August 23, 2016, around 2:30 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a farm accident at the Roden Echo Valley Farm located in the Township of Trenton. Initial information provided to the Sheriff’s Office was that a male subject had been run over by a skid loader.

Upon the arrival of the first Deputy, he was able to locate the male victim who had no pulse and was not breathing. The Deputy also advised that one of the victim’s legs had been amputated. CPR was started on the victim by the Deputies on the scene and turned over to Newburg Fire/Rescue upon their arrival.

While Flight for Life was en-route to the scene, the victim passed away. Initial investigation of the accident shows that the victim was riding on a feed spreader which was attached to the front of the skid loader when he lost his balance and fell between the spreader and the wheel of the skid loader. The victim was run over by the skid steer.

At this time the identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification to his family. This case remains open to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau
