Man dies after being hit by vehicle in Racine, one in custody

RACINE, Wis  (CBS 58) -- A driver is in custody after a 64-year-old man was found lying in the street by off-duty Racine Police officers Tuesday night. 

The officers were on their way home when they found the man in the area of 6th Street and Marquette Street around 11:35 p.m. on July 30. Police say the 64-year-old man was injured and appeared to have been hit by a vehicle. 

The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died. While officers were on scene, a vehicle pulled up and the driver admitted to operating the vehicle that hit the man. Police suspected the driver to be under the influence of alcohol and the driver was arrested.
