RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- More than 21 years after a Milwaukee mother was found shot to death along a highway in Racine County, a jury has convicted the gunman.

Forty-one-year-old Miguel Cruz was found guilty in a Racine County court Friday, Feb. 19.

He shot 39-year-old Juanita Zdroik back in February of 2000.

Cruz was on the run until 2017. He will be sentenced in April.

The conviction carries a minimum sentence of life in prison.
