MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A Milwaukee man is charged in connection to a fatal shooting in the city on May 3.

According to a criminal complaint, Victor Cintron faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide and attempted first-degree intentional homicide.

According to police, Cintron fatally shot a 22-year-old man while the victim was sitting in a car at a stoplight near 27th and Forest Home.

Court documents state Cintron’s ex-girlfriend was a passenger in the car and currently dating the victim.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim shielded the passenger to protect her from being hit. The victim died at the scene.

Cintron faces life in prison.

On Tuesday morning, undercover officers were conducting surveillance in the area of 7th and Maple looking for Cintron. 

“We are looking for a suspect identified as Victor Cintron. We do believe that he had a residence or was hiding on a residence on that block," said Chief Alfonso Morales.

There was a tactical situation nearby. CBS 58 spoke with the woman who lives inside the home. She said that MPD searched her home and told her that Cintron rented a unit at some point. 

Milwaukee Police are asking for the public's assistance to find Cintron.
