Man calls police after girlfriend unknowingly opens up credit card in his name, racks up $10,000 worth of debt

BROWN DEER, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Brown Deer man called police on Monday to report that his girlfriend opened a credit card in his name.

Police were called to the home in the 4100 block of Fountain Avenue around 4:32 a.m.

The 46-year-old man reported that his 48-year-old girlfriend opened up the credit card without his knowledge.

She also allegedly accumulated $10,000 worth of debt on it.

A report was filed.

The investigation remains ongoing.
