Man Arrested Shortly After Carjacking

Milwaukee Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place around 9:55 PM Sunday, December 6 in the 2500 block of North Prospect Avenue. A suspect approached a 25-year-old Milwaukee woman and demanded her car at gunpoint.
The suspect then took the victim’s car, a 2014 Toyota Camry, and fled from the scene. District Five officers located the car a short time later and with the help of a suburban jurisdiction arrested the suspect, a 23-year-old man, in the 4800 block of N. Mother Daniels Way following a short foot chase.
The suspect had the victim’s cell phone on him and dropped his gun while running away from the officers. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
