Man arrested for OWI after rollover crash in Mount Pleasant

MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (CBS 58) – A 30-year-old man was arrested early Sunday morning for OWI 1st offense.

Mount Pleasant Police say the driver, Tonny Griffin, crashed and rolled his car six times around 1:50 a.m. It happened near State Highway 20 and County Highway V.

Witnesses tell police the car was going 100 miles per hour before it crashed. Authorities say Griffin lost control of the car and went into a ditch where the vehicle rolled six times and knocked down multiple signs and a light pole.

Griffin and a 25-year-old passenger  walked away from the crash without serious injuries.

He was also cited for recklessly endangering safety 2nd degree.
