Man arrested for 9th OWI in Washington County after overdosing and side swiping semi

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Monday evening around 6:40 p.m. the Washington County Sheriff's Department took a call of a minivan driving north on I-41 near State Highway 167 that was swerving across all three lanes of traffic without its headlights on.

Before deputies arrived, the driver sideswiped a tractor-trailer and continued driving.

When squads tried to stop the vehicle, it did not immediately stop and crashed into a median cable barrier just south of State Highway 145. Officials believe the 60-year-old man from Amberg was on the onset of overdosing. He was removed from the vehicle by deputies and could not stand or speak.

Paramedics arrived and gave the man Narcan. He was later arrested for his 9th OWI.
