Man arrested after robbing pharmacy of painkillers at knifepoint
On Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at approximately 10:29 am, City of Whitewater Police officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the McCullough’s Prescription and Gifts located at 1173 W. Main Street in the City of Whitewater.
A lone suspect entered the store displaying a knife and demanded painkiller type pills.
After receiving an undisclosed amount of pain killer type pills, the suspect fled north on foot.
The suspect was subsequently located and taken into custody at a residence on N. Fraternity Ln. in the City of Whitewater.
The knife used by the suspect was also recovered.
The suspect has been identified as a 24-year-old man. Criminal charges will be referred to the Walworth County District Attorney’s Office.
There have been no reported injuries related to this incident and no threat to the community exists.
