RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) – Two people accused of regularly keeping a 9-year-old child locked in a cage appeared in Racine County Court this morning.
46-year-old Gail Lalonde and 48-year-old Dale Deavers both appeared separately. Both pleaded not guilty and will face trial.
According to the criminal complaint, a school counselor reported to a deputy on September 6 that a student told her “she was being locked in a cage at night.”
The counselor first noticed something was wrong when the girl had come to school with a very short haircut and told the counselor it was her “punishment to cut her own hair.”
