Making Sure Your Holiday Gift Is Delivered before Christmas

The U.S. Post Office can really relate to the expression \"you've got mail,\" especially on a day like today. It's the busiest mailing day of the year.

At the downtown post office facility alone, it's estimated two and half million holiday cards and letters were processed. This is separate from the quarter of a million packages handled at a different location in Oak Creek.

The deadline to send a package first class or priority mail is Saturday to ensure it gets there before Christmas. And by the way, today is also the busiest shipping day for Fed Ex. UPS will have its turn next Monday.

Nationally, 640 million cards, letters, and packages will be processed today as well. The busiest delivery day for cards will be Wednesday, December 17, and the busiest delivery day for packages will be on Thursday.
