Madison police say shooting victim targeted

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Madison police say the man found fatally shot in the driver's seat of a car was targeted.

Authorities say the 29-year-old Madison area man is well known to police because he has an arrest record for a variety of crimes. The man was shot a number of times and was found in the car parked on the city's southwest side early Tuesday.

Investigators say about a dozen shell casings were found at the scene. Police say it's not known whether more than one assailant targeted the victim.
