Madison Area Hotel Robbed by Masked Gunman

A masked gunman entered the Magnusson Grand Hotel just east of Madison late Friday night and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.   According to the Dane Sheriff’s Office, a black male wearing dark clothing entered the hotel around 11:30 PM, went behind the counter and began emptying the cash drawer.  When confronted by hotel employees, the suspect pulled a handgun and then struck one of them in the face with the gun.  The suspect fled the scene on foot.  The Dane County Sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the robbery.
