Lohse finishes on strong note in complete game shutout

CINCINNATI - Kyle Lohse hopes Wednesday isn't the last start of his 2014 season, but if it is, Lohse finished on an incredibly dominant note.

The veteran righthander threw a 2-hit, complete game shutout in the Brewers 5-0 win over the Reds Tuesday afternoon, keeping the Brewers' slim playoff hopes alive. As of Wednesday evening, the Giants game had not finished. If the Giants lose that game, the Brewers will be four games back with four to play, creating a scenario for a tiebreaker if Milwaukee wins its last four and San Francisco loses its last four.

Rickie Weeks drove in a run with a single off the wall in the fourth. Weeks was thrown out trying to advance to second on the hit.
