Lodging Options For Summerfest Visitors

Summerfest expects visitors from 50 states and about 40 countries, which means they will need a place to stay. However, with rooms filling up fast, their options may be limited.

One hotel that will benefit from the influx of visitors is The Pfister Hotel.

Brandon Drusch, Director of Hotel Operations, said they have been getting ready for the 11 day music festival.

"We've been preparing for months for this big day and this big week and of course it's something that comes every year to us in Milwaukee," he said.

The Pfister Hotel is one of three hotels that offer a Summerfest deal. There are also hotels offering shuttles to the festival.

"Of course our Summerfest package, which allows you to come enjoy the hotel and provide you with two tickets to the big gig and a couple of beverage vouchers to help you enjoy your time here in our hotel facility and bars," Drusch said.

There are 16,000 hotel rooms in the Greater Milwaukee area, according to Kristin Settle, with Visit Milwaukee.

She said that if hotels are full in Milwaukee, visitors are encouraged to try lodging in other cities like Cudahy and Wauwatosa.

“It has a larger impact than just the downtown area”, Settle said. “Summerfest is a great event that brings the whole community together.”

AIRBNB is also an option for visitors. Milwaukee residents have been promoting their proximity to the Summerfest grounds.

With so many in town, that means not only the lodging market is benefiting, but restaurants and other attractions as well.

"There's plenty to see here in Milwaukee, you'll find that from the Brewery tours to the restaurants, to the lakefront, there's nothing but endless opportunities while you are here for the week for Summerfest,” Drusch said. “So don't just spend time at the festival grounds, come see everything we have to offer.”
