Local Woman Allegedly Stole Over $95,000 from Grace Lutheran Church's Bank Account and Day Care

An Oak Creek woman allegedly stole over $95,000 from her church’s daycare and bank account.

Kelly Fischer has been charged with one count of theft / embezzlement.

Fischer worked as an administrative assistant at Grace Lutheran Church in Oak Creek when she allegedly did not cash deposits for child daycare into the church’s account.

In addition, she allegedly withdrew funds from the church’s bank account for her own use.

This occurred from January 2013 to March 2016 and totaled $95,778.21.

The money was used for personal purchases on her debit card including gas, groceries, and travel.

Fischer allegedly told police that she did take money from the account for personal purchases.

“I’m not making excuses. I’m saying it’s wrong all around. I said I did some of this. I don’t believe I have to pay it all back with those withdrawals… I was just stressed,” said Fischer to police.

Fischer admitted to using the card for Garth Brooks tickets, purchasing her son a bed, and her nails.
