Local wildlife center seeks volunteers to help feed baby birds 🐣
OCONOMOWOC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Wildlife in Need Center urgently seeks community assistance to join its Baby Bird Feeding Team.
Every year from May to September, WINC receives hundreds of hungry orphaned baby birds needing consistent care and attention before they can return to the wild.
An orientation session for new volunteers is slated for Saturday, June 3 at 10 a.m. at the Wildlife in Need Center. People aged 15 and older are eligible, while those aged 12 - 14 can still participate with an adult guardian.
A weekly commitment to a 4.5-hour shift over an eight-week period is required.
People above 15 years of age who are interested in participating are urged to RSVP for the Baby Bird Feeder Orientation at (262) 965-3090 and fill an application available at HelpingWildlife.org.
For those aged 12 - 14, an email can be sent to [email protected] to set up a pre-training interview.
The Wildlife in Need Center, a non-profit based in Oconomowoc, says they are dedicated to the treatment and care of sick, injured and orphaned indigenous wildlife with the ultimate goal of releasing healthy animals back into the wild.
