WHITEFISH BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Shoreside Therapies in Whitefish Bay is helping families get the therapy they need. Whether it's sitting down one-on-one with a licensed therapist or using art as an outlet and a way to express yourself.

"It’s hard for young girls, in general, to express what’s going on with them. They might say something to friends or to an adult, but a lot of times they’re struggling with those harder emotions. Anger might be one of them. And so, being able to express it through art and being able to say this is what’s actually going on with me and not having to do it verbally is really powerful," said Laurie Groh, a licensed therapist at Shoreside Therapies.

They offer a class aimed at young girls and helping them build the confidence and communication skills they need.

"Paint It Out: Art and Emotion for Girls" is held every other Thursday. Girls make vision books, put their feelings in art-form and are able to connect with like-minded girls.

For both adults and children, Shoreside offers weekly webinars on various topics. They are free and anyone can join.
