MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The CEO of the regional Red Cross headed to North Carolina Tuesday morning to help with hurricane relief efforts.
CBS 58 spoke with Patty Flowers at Mitchell International Airport ahead of her flight.
Flowers says her job in North Carolina will be to serve as a liaison between the elected officials and the Red Cross.
“There’s a ton of damage,” Flowers said. “There are still people in our shelters. We have about 600 people in our shelters still.”
Flowers said five people from Wisconsin are also getting their plans together to help with efforts in Georgia once Hurricane Michael makes landfall.
