Rabbi Levi Stein of Bayside was reminded to appreciate the really important things in life after the hurricanes in Puerto Rico turned his home "upside down."
He and his wife kept their home on the island after moving back to the United States.
He finally got some photos of what remains of his home after Hurricane Maria last week.
We had a refrigerator that was in a cement groove which was thrown outside, through a glass wall," the Rabbi tells CBS 58 News.
Still, he is thankful.
"What happened to us is minor compared to what happened to people that are living down there and we pray for them and hope that everything is restored as quickly as possible."
He tells us rebuilding will take months..
