Local Mother Pleads Guilty to Drugging and Smother Her Children

A local mother pleaded guilty to drugging and smothering her children.
Lucia Hernandez-Alvarez of Kenosha admitted to giving 1-year-old Javier and 3-year-old Alicia medicine before killing them last year.
She faces life in prison and deportation.
She told the judge on Friday she was desperate at the time but understands what pleading guilty means.
She will be back in court in November for a mental health hearing.
