Local hero, K-9 Deputy Riggs, helps Kenosha deputies track down fleeing suspect

KENOSHA COUNTY Wis. (CBS 58) - On the morning of Sept. 17, Kenosha County's K-9, Deputy Riggs, proved his heroism once again, successfully "sniffing out" a suspect that, according to the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department, crashed a vehicle and attempted to flee the scene.

Authorities say the driver, Cassandra Jozsi, made an escape into the wilderness but was quickly tracked down by the local hero.

The sheriff's department says Jozsi was arrested on nine charges: OWI 2nd, Operating While Revoked, Possession of Amphetamine (x2), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (x2), Possession of Marijuana, Failure of Operator to Notify Police of Accident, and Operating Left of Center.

K-9 Riggs survived a shot in the head back in October 2021, after his pursuit of a fleeing suspect that led to the capture of Allan Brown, a suspect wanted for two Illinois murders.
