MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- If you noticed a lot of wild lawns in the neighborhood recently, there's a reason. "No Mow May" was a hot topic across the area last month, with many municipalities participating in an effort to let lawns grow wild during May to help sustainably bolster the ecosystem by offering bees more habitats and food sources.

Ultimately, what were the results? Dr. Chelsea Cook, assistant professor of biological sciences at Marquette University joined us on Wednesday, June 6 to discuss the significant impact of "No Mow May" on local bee populations.

She also elaborated on the importance of bees for the environment, highlighting their role in pollination.
