WEST MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) – Local businesses that depend on winter weather are hoping for snow in the near future.
At Davis Seasonal Maintenance in West Milwaukee, the snow plows have only been used a handful of times this season.
Owner Brad Davis says his business is typically busy removing snow in December. Usually, workers get a lot of extra hours and are able to make more money around the holidays, but not this year.
Right now, the area is 16 inches below average for snowfall this winter. With the lack of snow and cold temperatures, it’s been slow for business like Davis’ and he knows contractors around the area are feeling it.
“We try to do other things to keep our employees busy,” he said. “But there’s only so many remodels and shop work that we can do so we’re really excited about the snow coming here.”
Davis has been in business around 10 years and says this winter ranks among the slowest years.
