Local Boy Delivers Toys to Children's Hospital

Hundreds of sick kids at Children's Hospital just received a gift thanks to a boy in Burlington.

Vance Wilks and his family made the delivery Wednesday.

During September and October Vance collected toys at his school and at a drop box at Browns Lake Golf Course.

This is the third time the Wilks have made the donation.

This time they gave out 975 toys.

"It feels great, this is my favorite part of the toy drive, when we come here we load up and drop off.  It's just so exciting to know that we're hopefully making a difference for somebody," says Vance's mom, Amanda.

Not to be outdone, Vance's sister created parent packages with toiletries for parents to use during longer stays, which were also dropped off along with the toys.
