Local Bars Prepare for the Estimated 55,000 NCAA Fans Coming to Milwaukee
Local bars and restaurants hope fans will stop in and leave some major green behind.
Approximately 700 players, team members and media have traveled to see these games.
It is estimated 55,000 fans are expected to come to town to see the big dance.
Brass Alley said they are getting three times the normal business as a normal Thursday.
They are the official bar for Purdue, Butler and a few other teams.
They have been stocking the shelves all day, but they have been preparing for march madness for a few weeks.
On selection Sunday, they went out of their way to welcome these teams to Milwaukee.
"Sunday was the day that 12 of us got together and we just started sending out emails, making phone calls to all the different alumni groups, universities saying hey we would love to be your home away from home. While you're in town making a bid for this,” said Jeremy Pust, operating partner for Brass Alley.
Brass Alley isn't the only place affected by March Madness.
Visit Milwaukee estimates the total economic impact expected is $6 million.
