FRANKLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- There were several special reunions Friday night, June 4, at the Rock Sports Complex in Franklin.
Three local living kidney donors and recipients were part of an event to raise awareness of the need for organ donation.
One of the organizers had some advice for anyone on the fence about becoming a donor.
"Put yourself in the person in need's shoes, for me as a living donor, that what I did for another mom, if I was in her shoes," said Brenda Cortez.
Most people on the transplant waiting list need a kidney and almost 20 people die each day in the U.S. alone while waiting.
