Upper Midwest Division is set to host the annual Liver Life Walk Milwaukee on August 1st, along with a 5K Fun Run.

Dee Girard  of the Liver Foundation was a special live guest Monday on the CBS 58 News at 4:30 p.m.

More than 500 participants are stepping up in support of the many local patients currently affected by liver disease. The walk will consist of a 3-mile loop around Veteran's Park in Milwaukee, WI and will be emceed by Tony Haska, radio DJ from from Wisconsin's Trending Radio 93.3.

The walk is open to the general public, and participants are recruited through school groups, corporations and the medical community. Both individuals and teams are encouraged to attend.

The Liver Life Walk allows people affected by liver disease to come together and raise critical funds and awareness for the American Liver Foundation, all while having a good time in a festival-type atmosphere including activities for kids, food, and entertainment!  All funds go to support the mission of the American Liver Foundation to facilitate, advocate and promote education, support and research for the prevention, treatment and cure of liver disease.

This year, Liver Life Walk Milwaukee is introducing a new addition to the event location, the Healthy Lifestyles Tent! Any walker or runner that raises or donates $25 or more will gain access inside the tent featuring a healthy lunch sponsored by the Superior Culinary Center, chair massages, smoothie and juice bar tastings, blood pressure checks, essential oil demonstrations, snacks for pets, a raffle ticket for an awesome prize, and more, all to promote a healthy life!
