Lightning strike believed to be cause of New Berlin house fire

NEW BERLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- According to the New Berlin Fire Department, one firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation and heat exhaustion. He was released from the hospital hours later.

NEW BERLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A house fire in New Berlin is believed to have been caused by a lightning strike. 

The New Berlin Police and Fire Departments were called to a house fire in the 15300 block of W. Grange Avenue around 3:46 p.m. on Monday.

The fire was contained to the upper portion of the two-story residence.

All occupants were able to exit the house safely.

The apparent cause of the fire was a lightning strike. The New Berlin Fire Department will continue their investigation.
