BROOKFIELD (CBS 58)--Exercising at the gym is really shaping up to be a different experience in the wake of the pandemic. Life Time Athletic Club in Brookfield has been reopened for about a month now. If you go, you'll notice the six-foot separation rule strictly being enforced whether you're in the workout room or poolside. All the employees and trainers are required to wear masks. And there's constant cleaning using an EPA grade sanitizer. Those with the club say if you have any doubts or questions, they are there to help.
Personal training manager Jordan Albright says if you're a person with a compromised immune system, he recommends consulting with a doctor before you even think about returning to the gym. Albright also says now may be a good time to mix up your workout routine. In other words, try something new.
At least at Life Time, class sizes have been reduced, and reservations are required. And since it is swimming season, swim classes are being offered for kids as young as three months! Two big takeaways for the youngsters are to make sure they can float on their back, and they are using proper Coast Guard-approved life jackets for kids, not just air-filled floaties.
