License Plates Made to Fight Childhood Cancer

At Children's Hospital on Monday morning leaders unveiled a new Wisconsin license plate aimed at fighting childhood cancer.

It's part of a bill introduced in Madison.

If passed revenues from the plates would go directly to the MACC Fund.

The idea came from a local family, the Verhaalens, who lost their 10-year old daughter Allison to a rare form of cancer last year.

The legislation creating the new license plates still needs to pass into law. It will be introduced by sponsors Assemblywoman Janel Brandtjen and state Senator Duey Stroebel.
