MILWAUKEE -- (CBS 58) As Hunger Task Force continues to move through the holiday season at full speed, the Lend a Helping Ham program with 102.9 The HOG is back! Throughout the month of December, Hunger Task Force is collecting hams as the holiday centerpiece for hungry Milwaukee families.
The support of several local organizations will ensure that every ham donation made throughout the campaign will be matched, roast for roast. Businesses like George Webb Restaurants, Sherwin Industries, Walt's Sandwich Place, Dynatect Manufacturing and Sharbuno Jewelers are all supporting the cause and offering ham donations, as well as incentives for customers at their locations.
Juicy holiday hams can be purchased online for just $15 each-with the match, that means $15 buys two hams, $30 buys four hams…and the generosity continues! Donated hams will be delivered to local pantries that will then distribute them to hungry Milwaukee families in time for a holiday meal.
Ham donations can also be given in person at Hunger Task Force's Dock 1 at 201 S. Hawley Court, Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. or on Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
