Legal counsel approved for Milwaukee Elections Commission in wake of FBI questioning

CBS 58

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's election commission is lawyering up.

The Common Council signed off on outside legal help Tuesday, June 2, after the FBI started asking questions about the 2020 election.

Federal agents have contacted election officials around Wisconsin, including the county's elections director.

The FBI hasn't said what they're looking into.

City leaders say they'll cooperate, but they're also standing by the election result.
