Leff's Lucky Town hosts fundraiser for detective shot during Milwaukee carjacking

MILWAUKEE, (CBS 58) -- Dozens gathered at Wauwatosa Watering Hole on Feb. 27 to help raise money for an MPD detective who is on the mend after being shot.

"You just don't realize that what he did affected so many people, not only Wauwatosa, Milwaukee, the whole county," said Steve Wilkiewicz, father of Andy Wilkiewicz. "It's amazing all the people come up to us and thank us for what he did."

Leff's Lucky Town hosted a fundraiser for detective Andy Wilkiewicz.

He was off duty last month when he was shot several times while attempting to stop an armed carjacking in the Third Ward.

Prior to joining MPD, Wilkiewicz was an employee at Leff's.
