On Thursday, May 25 at approximately 5:00 AM, the West Milwaukee Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious man in an apartment building in the 5400 block of West Greenfield Avenue in West Milwaukee.

Initial dispatch reports indicated the party was naked, speaking incoherently and flooding his apartment. West Milwaukee officers arrived on-scene and encountered an uncooperative man. Due to the combativeness and uncooperativeness of the male party, the West Milwaukee Police Department requested assistance from the West Allis Police Department.

The man continued to be uncooperative and combative with officers and Tasers were used. The man was was taken into custody and while officers were monitoring him he stopped breathing.


The Milwaukee Fire Department was already at the scene and provided treatment to the man. The man was transported to a local hospital and declared dead.

A West Milwaukee police officer received a minor injury during the incident. This officer was treated at a local hospital and released.

The Milwaukee County Investigative Team responded and will investigate this incident. The lead investigating agency is the City of Greenfield Police Department.

The investigators urge any eye witnesses or witnesses that may have heard something to come forward or to contact them at the City of Greenfield Police Department.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner has scheduled an autopsy for Friday.
