Lakefront Brewery to host inaugural beard contest 🧔

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Attention people with facial hair of all kinds! Lakefront Brewery is hosting an inaugural beard contest on Saturday, Jan. 25. 

Contestants can enter in one of the following five categories: 

• Best Full Beard Below 5 Inches
• Best Full Beard Above 5 Inches
• Best Partial Beard
• Best Mustache
• Best Female Creation

According to a news release from the brewery, on their Beard & Beer Tour, Level-Up Beard Company is playing host at a plethora of breweries across Wisconsin and Minnesota. Based out of Osseo, MN, married couple Kris and Jessica specialize in beard oil, balm, wash, and beard butter. They’ve held several beard contests at various locations across the Midwest but are excited at the potential Lakefront Brewery brings to the table.

“When Level-Up reached out about the contest, we looked at our beer hall space, our stage, thought about some of the incredible beards that have come through our taproom, and quickly got on board” says On-site Business Developer Mike Walker, “it was also important to us that females feel welcome to enter the contest so we hope the creation category elicits some fun results.”

Sign up begins at Lakefront Brewery at 12 p.m. on Jan. 25 at Level-Up’s pop up shop on a first come, first served basis while spots remain. Each of the five categories will allow for 15 entrants.

Representatives can sign others up but must be prepared with their name and desired category. The event will get underway at 7PM with 4 judges (3 male and 1 female) overseeing the contest.

The prizes, awarded to the top 3 finishers in each category, will be as follows:

1^st Place – 3 Level-Up Beard Products, $100 Lakefront Brewery Gift Card, and a 6-Pack of Lakefront Brewery Beer

2^nd Place – 2 Level-Up Beard Products, and a 6-Pack of Lakefront Brewery Beer
3^rd Place – 1 Level-Up Beard Product and a Growler of Lakefront Brewery Beer
