Lakefront Brewery releases retro Riverwest Stein to celebrate original design

Lakefront Brewery

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Lakefront Brewery has released a limited run of retro packaging for its Riverwest Stein Amber Lager in recognition of the brand’s nearly 38-year history. The new 12-pack features the original 1987 artwork used when the beer was first launched.

The brewery first delivered Riverwest Stein on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1987 at the former Gordon Park Pub in Milwaukee’s Riverwest neighborhood.

That location is now Nessun Dorma, where the Klisch brothers still mark the anniversary annually. The retro packaging was inspired by early artwork from a local artist known as 'Peggy Riverwest.'

The limited 12-pack is available at Lakefront Brewery and other retail locations where Riverwest Stein is sold. Supplies are limited and distribution will be one-time only. More information can be found by clicking here.
