MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Kegnado light display outside Lakefront Brewery recognizes Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.
The installation was debuted in September and features 71 beer kegs in the form of a tornado.
On Friday, Nov. 1, the display was lit up in purple for pancreatic cancer awareness.
"When I was diagnosed in 2013, the survival rate was only 6-percent," said pancreatic cancer survivor Ray Shupe. "Right now, the survival rate is only 9-percent. And we'd like to see that increase. So the best way to do that is to get people more aware of the disease and the kinds of symptoms that they might run into."
An estimated 56,000 people will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this year.
