Lake Geneva woman charged with Medicaid fraud

A Lake Geneva woman is facing three felony counts of Medicaid assistance fraud after allegedly submitting false timesheets to the Medicaid program resulting in thousands of dollars in payment for services she never provided.

A state investigation found that between September 2010 and May 2013, 59-year-old Linda Turner provided daily, in-home cares to a tracheostomy patient.  The patient then underwent reconstructive surgery in May, was hospitalized for the better part of that month but did not require daily home care upon her release.

The patient's mother reports Turner did not provide any services to the patient after the surgery.  Records show that Turner submitted timesheets to the Medicaid program with false claims that she provided services to the patient during her hospital stay and daily care services through September 15, 2013.  Turner billed 873 hours and received about $28,540 in payments for services she did not provide.

Turner appeared in Kenosha County Court on Tuesday. If convicted, she faces a total of 18 years in prison.
