Community volunteers hold vigil for Elijah Vue in Two Rivers
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Komen Wisconsin is kicking off its 'More Than Pink' walk.
It's the start of an effort to raise $800,000 for breast cancer research and services.
4,700 people are diagnosed with breast cancer in Wisconsin each year. All of the money raised through the 'More Than Pink' walk will stay in the community and go to helping those fighting the disease.
"What I always look forward to at our More Than Pink walk is seeing our community come together and support the amazing work around survivorship and research and reaching Komen's big bold goal which is reducing breast cancer deaths by 50% over the next decade," said Nikki Panico, Komen Wisconsin Executive Director.
CBS 58 is proud to be a sponsor of the event.
The More Than Pink walk is Sunday, September 22 at the Henry Maier Festival Park.
