Kiwanis Holiday of Lights at Racine Zoo Starts Saturday

The Racine Zoo will turn on the Kiwanis Holiday Lights Saturday, November 19 at approximately 5:00 PM, by the Walton gate, and will be on display throughout the month of December. One of the highlights is a waterfall that consists of seven sections and when pieced together, becomes a magnificent 22-foot by 28-foot display. The movement of the waterfall is created with 3,000 feet of rope lights, totaling 33,000 individual LED bulbs. There will also be a steamboat, animals, trees, toys and of course Santa and his sleigh.

After the lights go on, you will be able to enter the Vanishing Kingdom building to say hello to some animals and enjoy complimentary hot cocoa and cookies. When leaving you will exit through the gift shop where you can purchase a Kiwanis ornament. Proceeds from the sales of the ornament will go towards the Kiwanis Holiday of Lights display to help make next year even brighter. You can also take advantage of the Zoo’s custom-made holiday gift baskets, the perfect gift this year for the animal lover in your life. From blankets to toys, to bottles of wine or beer and Zoo memberships, the possibilities are endless.  The full event will begin at 5:00 PM and end at 7:00 PM.
