Tuesday is also World Spay Day. The annual and nationwide event was created to shine a spotlight on the power of affordable, accessible spay/neuter services. The Wisconsin Humane Society will recognize World Spay Day.

"We have a special event coming up from February 29-March 11. We are offering $40 neuters for male cats only," said Barb Lucius from the Humane Society.

"There's always over-population of pets and with all of our good work, we try to also encourage people not to contribute to that with our pets."

Spay/neuter treatments at the Humane Society include pre-exam checkups, medication, and complimentary nail clippings in addition to the surgery.
