Milwaukee police safely find critically missing 11-year-old girl
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An army of bicycle experts spent Friday, July 17, tuning up kids' bikes free of charge on Milwaukee's north side.
"This is the summer event for the kids because bikes is their number one mode of transportation outside of their their own two feet," said Delicia Morris, Westlawn Partnership for a Healthier Environment.
The group fixed flat tires, lubricated chains, and whatever else was needed. The event took place at the Westlawn Gardens Playground Pavilion on 62nd and Custer.
"One of the years that we were doing the family ride, the local alderman came with us on that ride and the next year, all the roads were fixed," said Anne Dressel, Westlawn Partnership for a Healthier Environment.
The free tuneups are provided by the Westlawn Partnership for a Healthier Environment.
