MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The NBA schedulers knew what they were doing making this reunion one of the matchups of week one of the NBA season. This will be the second time the Bucks face Khris Middleton since last year, but it's a little different inside this building
"Not going to lie, it felt a little weird being in a hotel, but it's good to be back. Excited for tonight obviously," said Middleton.
Walking back in this building may have been weird but it brought back memories.
"This place will always be special to me. I've said it many of times this organization, this city, has helped me accomplish a lot of my dreams and my goals," said Middleton.
Middleton is the all-time leader in made three pointers for the bucks and second games played. He became a three-time All-Star and achieved the ultimate goal for any basketball player, becoming an NBA champion.
"Whenever I come back for sure. The banner is there. One of the first things I went to go look at and see," said Middleton. "I think that's what legacy all is about. Winning. We built this organization from a team that was struggling up to a contender and eventually a champion. And that's something that should always hold here in this building. We won a championship for this city."
While Middleton doesn't like being the center of attention, all eyes will be on him during the highly anticipated tribute video before tipoff.
"It's a sign of respect, a sign of appreciation that they do that for returning players that have impacted their organization in some type of way," said Middleton. "I'm hoping I don't tear up, we never know. I know Giannis and a couple of guys would love to see that. I know Peter Feigin would love to see that for sure."
Then it will game time, facing not only his former team but, his longest tenured NBA teammate Giannis Antetokounmpo.
"It's fun going against your brother and that's something that will always be exciting no matter what stage it is," said Middleton.
The Bucks and Wizards tipoff at 7 p.m.
