Kenosha Police: 40-year-old woman beaten with baseball bat during home invasion

KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Kenosha Police Department is currently investigating a home invasion where a woman was injured with a baseball bat.

Police were called to a home near 54th Street and 21st Avenue around 3:40 a.m. on Sunday.

When police arrived on scene, they learned that a woman was beaten with a bat and had suffered injuries to her head and upper body.

A neighbor who heard the assault called police.

Police were able to take three suspects, two women and one man in their mid-20's and 30's, into custody at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the home invasion and assault are still being investigated.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. She is expected to be released later in the day.
